The Detour Guide is my attempt to better understand and respond to some of the systematic shortcomings of the world I see around me. While I won’t pretend to have all the answers, I hope to offer both critique and potential alternatives to the structures that currently define our lives.
Derek Magee
Derek is a designer with a background in architecture and urban design, who believes in our ability to create places and social structures that allow for humanity to thrive. His past design experience involves working at a variety of scales, from residential interiors to regional transportation corridors. He lives with his partner in the Bay Area in California, and enjoys bike touring, street photography, and homemade pizza.
